 Portrait in Jazz was an absolute dream to work with. They were professional from the start, always balancing our requests with the best musical decisions. We got married on an island off the coast of Portland, ME, and Brad and his crew made sure all of the logistics were covered, leaving no room for error. As individuals, the band members were extremely talented. Put them together, and you have one of the best wedding jazz bands on the east coast. The local residents commented that this was, "the best wedding band they have ever had on the island," and many chose to sit outside their homes to enjoy. Thank you for making our ceremony and reception perfect! 

Portrait in Jazz is the epitome of jazz for everyone.  We've had them visit our Library twice and have been totally impressed by their performance both times.  They play an array that includes perfectly arranged standards and smooth original compositions. Thankfully, they incorporate solos so each accomplished musician gets to shine. They give new meaning to the phrase, "listening pleasure".

Portrait in Jazz is perfect. First, they are a group of experienced, talented musicians who play a huge variety of jazz pieces with skill and class! All of my guests -- everyone of the 50 or so people--commented that the group made the night. We asked Brad (who was the point person) to play one hour cocktail/background music; one hour dinner and eating music; and the last hour dance music. Brad really listens and divided the music and mood exactly the way we wanted it. He consistently told us he could adjust to our guests' wishes--and he did lowering volume when needed. What a wonderful gig. Hire this band and you won't go wrong. Everyone will be delighted. Bravo.

Portrait in Jazz did a great job to add an exciting and elegant dimension to an outdoor birthday party of about 45 people. I found the contact person, Brad, very knowledgeable and accommodating in both putting together the repertoire and playing requests. It was obvious to the guests that the musicians were very skilled and enthusiastic and played well together. They killed it. The evening was a memorable evening for all guests due in no small measure to portrait in jazz.

I would like to highly recommend the Brad Ellenberg Quintet for any concert programming that you are investing in for your patrons.  I found working with Brad a wonderful experience.  He responds quickly and to the point and we were able to arrange a fabulous program for the Plymouth Public Library with ease.  The musicians that are in the Quintet, and of course as with any band, they could change from the time of booking to the time of the actual performance, but that being said, the quality of the music was fantastic.  My audience is a very demonstrative group and they responded to the music with exuberance and a request for the Quintet to return.  I want to highlight, that working with Brad and the band was a delight from the beginning to the night of the show.  Please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise I say, Three Thumbs Up! 

Brad's group, Portrait in Jazz, brought a thoroughly engaging set to our library; one which was enthusiastically received by our many guests in attendance. While completely open to playing standards, we were treated to an entire hour of original pieces that highlighted the skills of each musician in the quintet. The conversations between the flugelhorn and the saxophone were in turns playful, endearing, and always original.  Brad's skillful guitar playing nodded to Wes Montgomery with creative phrasing and Brad's own distinct electric flavor. The drummer was first class, and the bassist provided a solid foundation for the grooves. These guys played very welcoming, creative music, epitomizing the best of this classic American art form.  

Based on the positive feedback I have heard from many in attendance, I will not hesitate to invite this dynamic group to perform once again for one of our future concert series.

Portrait in Jazz always leaves our audience feeling happy and wanting more! Their talent and professionalism is everything our facility could ask for! I can always count on them to make our special occasions just that! I will call on them again and again!!!
